Soooo, I kinda missed out last week (apologies, did an interview which will be up shortly). I may not be able to do this weekly but I promise update this fortnightly.
Todays Flashback Friday (click for previous episodes)is dedicated to iconic advert songs. A time when adverts made me sing-a-long and remember the brand through their evil, eeevil subliminal messages sent using infectious melodies combined with quick-and-easy-to-learn lyrics. Sadly we now hear such lyrical dexterity on them levels by the likes of Hip-hop's elite (damn shame). I'm sure there was more emphasis on songs back then.
Disclaimer: some may have been made + initially aired in the 80s, but I'm sure they were shown during the 90s. Some songs weren't exclusive to the brand, but were associated with said brand. If you disagree, gweh!

I remember I didn't even know this was advertising for a long time. Thank Jah else I would have had nightmares
No homo for the next one, never knew what this was for until sometime within the last couple of years. 'Ang tite all the EuroTrash watchers, you dirty pervs you!
All my Jamaicans out there, don't say you never felt an attachment to this advert/brand.

I have missed a few but never fear a part deux, maybe tres (tri-lingual!) of advert appreciations are lined up. Could have gone on for days, hence adding the songs condition. If I've missed some out holla @ me. My old mind could be failing me.
